Washington Redskins Legend RICKY SANDERS!
Former NFL star wide receiver and Washington Redskins Legend RICKY SANDERS will be the special autograph guest at the Aug. 29 Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show. Sanders is a 2x Super Bowl Champion (1987, 1991) and, along with Art Monk and Gary Clark, a member of the famous trio of Redskins wide receivers known as "the Posse."
One of the great NFL 'deep threats' of the 1980s, Sanders holds numerous Washington football records, and in Super Bowl XXII, he set Super Bowl records at the time for most receiving yards (193), most total yards (235), most touchdowns in one quarter (2), most receiving yards in one quarter (168), and longest touchdown reception (80 yards, tie).
Sanders 12-year professional football career started in 1984 with the USFL's Houston Gamblers. In his standout rookie season catching passes from future HOF'er Jim Kelly, he had 1378 receiving yards and 11 TD receptions. After 2 years in Houston, Sanders spent 8 years with the Washington Redskins (1986-93) before finishing his career with the Atlanta Falcons.
